You can now zip line from the Eiffel Tower

Hold on to your berets, because when you take a trip down the latest Parisian attraction, you’re in for the ride of your life.

A zip line beginning at the Eiffel Tower and ending at the L’École Militaire is now open, so if you weren’t already dreaming of taking a trip to Paris this summer, you will be now.

If you pay a visit to the Eiffel Tower zip line, not only will you get to take in the monument’s incredible history, but you’ll also be able to enjoy the views in an all-new way—while traveling at approximately 55 mph, in fact.

The free zip line ride was set up by Perrier to promote the French Open. It’s called Le Perrier Smash and hangs about 375 feet above the ground.

Stretching for half a mile, it’s designed to get you traveling at the speed of a tennis serve in a short amount of time. It will only take about a minute to complete, so be sure to soak in the experience while it lasts!

For the adventurous, this sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Associated Press reporter John Leicester described his experience on the zip line:

“After the initial rush of fear, there was time on the way down to fall in love all over again with Paris: its stunning tapestry of grey roofs and landmarks simply magnificent under the blue skies and gray-white clouds. There, above Montmartre, the Sacre-Cour basilica! And over there, the golden dome of the Invalides where Napoleon is entombed! The Seine River glittered in the sun like a diamond necklace.”

How incredible! Or, should we say, incroyable!

The zip line is open from June 5 until June 11, and since opening, the ride has already given way to many social media posts. Of course, the Eiffel Tower makes for a great photo op in general, but when you add the zip line aspect, it only gets cooler.

I mean, zip lining from the Eiffel Tower is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience, after all. So, pack a bag and get to Paris—quick! June 11 will be here before you know it!
