It’s the circle of life. First comes the movie, then comes the merchandise!

Hasbro has just announced that they are creating a “Lion King” Monopoly board, complete with characters like Simba, Nala, Pumbaa and all of your other favorite creatures from the beloved film.

And here’s the best part. The “Lion King” Monopoly-themed game board will come with a miniature version of Pride Rock. When you push a button on Pride Rock, the theme song to “The Lion King” will begin playing, helping you to get into the spirit as you try to buy up all the real estate on the savanna.

The Reboot Inspired The Game

Why now? The 1994 animated classic is receiving a much-anticipated CGI re-imagining starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, Beyoncé and Amy Sedaris. The new reboot will be released in July, just in time for the film’s 25th anniversary.

“We know fans love pop culture integrations with their favorite games and with the 25th anniversary of the original motion picture and the release of the live-action film in July, fans will be clamoring for ways to celebrate the classic movie,” Jen Boswinkel, senior director of global brand strategy and marketing at Hasbro, told INSIDER.

Not Your Typical Monopoly

The new “Lion King” Monopoly board is similar to traditional Monopoly boards, but there are several fun changes that will make this a must-buy for fans of the movie.

For example, instead of placing mini houses on the Monopoly board whenever you take over a property, you will put down grubs and beetles instead — which makes sense, as these oh-so-delicious bugs are considered priceless to Pumbaa and Timon.

Destiny cards inspired by the iconic Disney movie replace Chance cards and Community Chest cards in this version of the Monopoly game. The Title Deed cards are made up of moments and locations from the film, and the board features artwork from “The Lion King” as well.

As can be seen above, the board also comes with a pride rock piece, which plays music and serves as a holder for the Destiny cards.

Disney news website Laughing Place tweeted about the upcoming game and its cool features, and gave a first glimpse of the gorgeous game pieces.

In addition to the four game pieces shown above (which picture the characters Simba, Nala, Mufasa and Pumbaa), players will also be able to choose from other favorite characters to play with, such as that of Scar below:
