You could rise and shine to this coffee alarm clock soon

If you’re like me and have more than a little trouble getting up in the a.m., you’ve likely tried countless strategies to make yourself a morning person. My favorite trick is to set an alarm in another room, so that I have to get out of bed to turn it off. This has about a 50 percent success rate, by the way. But, for those us who have a serious problem with the snooze button, there is an amazing product out there that just might actually get you to rise and shine on a regular basis: a coffee alarm clock!

It’s called the Barisieur, and it’s an alarm clock that brews coffee. I’ll let that sink in for a moment. The moment your alarm goes off, you have a steaming cup of joe waiting for you at your bedside. If that isn’t enough to wake you up then, quite possibly, nothing will. Check out this video to see exactly how this mind-blowing invention works:

The product’s creator, Johusa Renouf, claims that the Barisieur “combines ultimate convenience with a sensory experience.”

While that might sound a little over the top, who are we to argue with a product that makes getting your morning caffeine fix this easy? All you do is fill the glass vessel with water for coffee or tea. There’s even a special milk compartment if you take your coffee with milk or cream. Then, add your coffee grounds, set your alarm time, and then set your brew time. That’s it. Oh, and if all that wasn’t enough for you, you can also charge your phone in the product’s USB port.

Coffee and the ‘psychology of sleep’

In the video, Renouf says his inspiration came from the “psychology behind sleep and relaxation.” He learned that research shows developing a nightly routine encourages a more restful night’s sleep. He also set out to build a product that struck a balance between a functionality and aesthetics.

The Barisieur has not yet hit the market. But, it will come with a hefty $420 price tag when it does. If you just can’t wait to get your hands on this potentially life-changing product, you can pre-order it for a reduced price of $300 from Renouf’s Indiegogo page.

Raise a mug to nightly routines and fresh coffee in the morning!
