Zooey Deschanel Is Pregnant With Baby No. 2!

And now, in news that never seems to get old, we’ve learned that another actress is set to become a mom for the second time.

“New Girl” actress Zooey Deschanel is now expecting a new little girl (or guy), according to US Weekly.

She and husband Jacob Pechenik are already parents to an 18-month-old daughter named Elsie Otter.

Deschanel explained why otters inspired her daughter’s name in an interview on the Today Show saying, “They are very sweet and they are also smart. They use tools, they keep their favorite tools. They hold hands while they sleep. There are so many amazing things about otters. Who doesn’t love otters?”

That’s adorable, so we definitely get it!

The actress isn’t too forthcoming with information about her private life, however. Deschanel’s marriage to Pechenik happened under the radar in 2015, with the press learning about it at the same time we learned about Elsie’s birth.

“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl,” the actress’ rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time.

I know we’ll be looking forward to seeing Deschanel’s baby bump and the return of her fantastic maternity style.

I couldn’t be happier for this family, and until more details come in, I’m happy just to find out what Deschanel is willing to share along the way.

Take this little fun fact about Elsie Otter that she shared with Ellen DeGeneres last October, for example.

“She is really special. She’s saying some words. She says a lot of words, but she’s really obsessed with hats right now,” she shared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “My mom wears hats a lot and we had dinner with her and as soon as my mom came out, my daughter said, ‘hat! hat!'”
