3 clues that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their baby at home
The royal baby has finally arrived, and fans are now speculating about where exactly he was born. Prior to the birth, some royal aficionados speculated that Meghan Markle would give birth at home, at Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage.
It’s been a tradition that when a royal baby is born, he or she is introduced to the world when the parents step outside the private Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, letting the public and the media get a first glimpse of the new addition to the royal family. Both Princess Diana and Duchess Kate Middleton introduced their children this way.
But it was predicted Markle would not follow suit, especially once the couple released a statement indicating that the public would learn about the baby’s arrival “after they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
Indeed, there was no appearance at St. Mary’s Hospital following the birth of Markle and Prince Harry’s first son together on May 6, leaving many wondering where the new mom did give birth.
Here are three signs that point to the possibility that the newest royal made his entrance to the world at Frogmore Cottage:
1. Frogmore Cottage Was Mentioned In The Official Birth Announcement
In this official birth announcement, posted to The Royal Family Instagram page, it notes that “The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.”

2. Prince Harry Was At Windsor Castle When He Spoke On-Camera About His Son’s Birth
Although we haven’t seen the royal infant yet, proud dad Prince Harry indulged the public by giving a short on-camera interview.
“It’s been the most amazing experience I could have ever possibly imagined,” Prince Harry said from the grounds of Windsor on Castle on May 6. “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.”

3. Markle Reportedly Always Wanted A Home Birth
“Meg wants a natural birth if she can have one,” a source told Vanity Fair in February 2019. “Her mother is very into anything that is holistic and natural, and having been brought up with yoga and mindfulness, it’s all very much part of Meghan’s birth plan.”
Ever since she joined the royal family, Markle has been making her mark by doing things her way, so we’re guessing that if a natural home birth is what she wanted, that’s what she got!
