Blake Lively opens up about how her life isn’t as ‘perfect’ as many people think

When you look at gorgeous Blake Lively and her charismatic hubby, Ryan Reynolds, it’s easy to assume that their lives are perfect. They’re genetically blessed with incredible good looks, they’re talented actors, and they’re happy in love with two gorgeous kiddos (James, 2 years old, and Inez, nearly 1 year old).

However, Lively recently got frank with celeb reporter Kelli Boyle at Elite Daily. She confessed that her life is far from perfect, and that while her tribulations might be “champagne problems,” her life can be stressful nonetheless.

In fact, Lively shockingly revealed that both she and Reynolds are both quite shy, and they each become quite stressed when dealing with the public and being interviewed by members of the media.

The blonde bombshell says:

My husband and I are really shy people who express ourselves best when we’re acting, when we’re hiding as someone else. So the fact that very shy people have to share that shy person with the world—and are sometimes hurt by it—it’s very weird emotionally.

That makes a lot of sense. Just because someone enjoys acting in front of the camera does not mean that they want their entire lives on display or that they are comfortable being judged for their every choice—sartorial, parental, romantic or otherwise.

And while Lively and her husband have plenty of adoring fans, there are also people out there looking to criticize and hurt famous people. It was alleged that Lively was one of many female celebrities who had her private photos stolen and published on the internet. However, she has stated that the pictures are Photoshopped and not actually her. How incredibly violating and frightening.

Lively also took heat last year on social media when she posted a picture of herself at a formal event, along with the caption “L.A. face with an Oakland Booty.” Many felt that Blake’s photo caption (which are lyrics from Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back”) were racist, or at least tone-deaf to the country’s current racial tension.

As you can see, even when you “have it all,” you still have to deal with plenty of stress—and all under the public’s often unforgiving eye.

But the good news is that Lively and Reynolds are a fiercely devoted duo, and they can always be honest and open with another, whether they are talking “champagne problems” or something more serious. Here, Lively reveals why the two are so close:

In other relationships, if something came up, I would call my girlfriends or my sister, and say, ‘Hey, this is what he did—what should I do?’ Where with him, we were friends for two years before we were ever dating. And I treat him like my girlfriend. I’m like, ‘Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?’ And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy.
