You can buy Lay’s Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese chips at Sam’s Club
Peanut butter and jelly, mashed potatoes and gravy, burgers and fries, bacon and macaroni and cheese — some foods are just better together.
If the latter is one of your favorites, there’s a new snack you’re going to want to add to your shopping list right away. Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese potato chips now exist and have no artificial flavors, meaning that munching on these is seriously like eating bacon mac and cheese — in potato form!
The new Lay’s chips are exclusive to Sam’s Club, so you will need a membership in order to get a taste. You’ll find them in stores now for a limited time. They cost $3.49 for a 15.25 oz bag.
The chip flavor was actually a finalist in Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest in 2014, along with Kettle Cooked Wasabi Ginger, Wavy Mango Salsa and Cappuccino. It was available through retailers such as Walmart for a few years after that, but this is the first time it has made a reappearance in a while.
Lay’s has also had some other pretty interesting potato chip flavors over the years, like fried pickles with ranch and my current personal favorite, grilled cheese and tomato soup!
If macaroni and cheese is all you’re interested in, though, while you’re at Sam’s Club, you may also want to check out their mac and cheese flatbread. It is made with creamy cheddar cheese sauce on a crisp flatbread crust, then topped with rich cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, elbow macaroni and bacon.
In stores now, it costs $9.98 for a two-pack, with eight servings per flatbread (for a total of 16 servings). That’s just 62 cents per serving! The flatbreads will only be around until the end of the year, so you might want to start loading up your freezer now.
If you don’t have a Sam’s Club near you or don’t want to shell out for a membership, you could simply try your hand at making your own macaroni and cheese, though it won’t be in potato chip form.
This smoked gouda macaroni and cheese is another personal favorite and easier than it looks, as you don’t even have to drain the pasta! You could also add bacon (if that’s your thing) or chives, which I’ve done both times I’ve made it.
Will you be heading to Sam’s Club and picking up the Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese potato chips before they’re gone again?
