You’ll soon be able to buy hot cocoa with Lucky Charms marshmallows

Who doesn’t love a good cereal-snack collaboration that perfectly blurs the line of “is it breakfast or is it dessert?” We’re talking Twinkies Cereal! Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros! And, now, Swiss Miss hot chocolate with Lucky Charms marshmallows!

Instagram user @candyhunting had the scoop on the forthcoming hot cocoa mix. And Best Products was able to confirm with a spokeswoman for packaged foods brand Conagra that Swiss Miss Lucky Charms hot chocolate would hit store shelves in June 2020.

The box — containing six hot chocolate packs and those delicious Lucky Charms marshmallows — will cost $2.99.

Of course, if you can’t bring yourself to wait until the official release (hey, it’s chilly right now!), you could easily DIY your own Lucky Charms-topped hot cocoa. But before you go digging through the box of Lucky Charms in your pantry to pluck out those marshmallows, did you know you can buy a bag containing just the marshmallows? Kraft sells a 7-ounce bag, and you can find it at Target for $1.29.

You should note, however, that these marshmallows are closer to your average fluffy, jet-puffed marshmallows than they are to the sugary, crunchy marshmallows you’ll find in your cereal.


Another idea for taking your mug of hot chocolate up a level? Add cereal marshmallows and Teddy Graham cookies, like cookbook author Chrissy Teigen expertly demonstrated for us back December with her delicious mug of homemade cocoa.

Here’s her full recipe, which includes a boozy, salty whipped cream topping, which she whipped up with dark rum and sea salt. Yum, right?

In other Lucky Charms news, the popular cereal just debuted a new gold-and-green marshmallow blend just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. The limited-edition cereal has marshmallows shaped like gold coins, pots of gold and green shamrocks.
