“Fixer Upper” has likely become your favorite HGTV show to binge-watch. Between the charm of Chip and Joanna Gaines and their great design style, it’s hard not to love everything about this home renovation TV show. But, according to an announcement the couple released on their website, season five will be the final season of our beloved “Fixer Upper.”
“It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place,” the couple announced on their Magnolia website.

It appears as though the couple is looking to slow down and pour their energy into their family and their other businesses.
“Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses,” they wrote.
While we wish nothing but the best for the Gaines family, the news of the show coming to an end is not something that fans are taking lightly. Reactions are already pouring in on Twitter.
“Chip and Jo announced Fixer Upper is ending and I feel like my life is ending,” one fan (who is all of us) wrote on Twitter.

The best way to describe this situation—a bummer. It’s just a bummer.
So Chip and Jo just released a statement that Fixer Upper is done after this season… What a bummer

Meanwhile, some are planning to move to Texas so they can still get their Chip and Joanna fix.
Fixer upper is ending 😭 looks like I'm moving to Texas just so I can still see them every week bye y'all

But, thankfully, you won’t have to move to Texas to get a dose of this couple’s design style. You can shop their home decor collection, which is launching at Target, visit their Magnolia website, or even stay at their bed and breakfast in Texas.

Plus, the fifth season doesn’t air until November. So, you definitely haven’t seen the last of these two.
“We are really, really proud of season 5. We laid it all on the field and didn’t hold anything back,” the couple said in their statement. “There’s so much good, new stuff coming your way!”
It’s so like them to look on the bright side. And we owe it to them to try and do the same, don’t you think?
Everything will be OK, y’all. The Gaineses could never let us down!
