The customizable HONGi mattress promises the sleep of your dreams

Imagine waking up in the morning and actually feeling rejuvenated and energized. It’s a faraway dream for some of us, myself included. I mean, if we’re being totally honest here, I tend to wake up yawning.

Sound familiar? About 35 percent of adults are right there with you, reporting less than seven hours of sleep during a typical 24-hour period. And according to the American Sleep Association, adults need seven to nine hours while teenagers need about eight to 10. If you’re not getting an adequate amount of sleep, it can lead to a whole host of problems, including a pretty scary thought—drowsy driving, which is responsible for 1,550 fatalities a year.

The makers of a new smart mattress have set out to put an end to our lack of sleep and our groggy mornings, promising the sleep of our dreams. Meet HONGi, a smart mattress with interchangeable parts that allows you to have the best bed for you based on your specific needs.

Here’s how it works: According to HONGi’s makers, customizing the mattress to meet your needs takes just 15 questions, like “Are you sleeping solo or as a couple?” and “Do you have pets or children snoozing in your bed?”

HONGi has the ability to set two different preferences on one mattress so each side can be customized differently, and its makers say it even allows your pets to sleep well.

The questionnaire will also ask if you sleep on your back or side or experience night sweats and snoring, among other things. But that’s not all—like everything nowadays, HONGi also includes smart-sync availability. That means your heart rate while you sleep will be tracked, giving you insight into your sleep that goes right to your phone.

Pair HONGi with this SleepSmart pillow if you’re a side sleeper and we’ll bet it’ll be pretty hard to get out of bed in the morning. Not because you’re tired—but because you seriously won’t want to.
