What You Should Drink To Help Balance Your Hormones

When it comes to hormonal troubles, most of us think to see a doctor and consider some at-home remedy for curing any particular imbalances.

However, sometimes the solution is as easy as sipping on a drink. Just like the foods we ate, the beverages we consume can play a role in our health, including balancing our hormones.

Having one or more of these drinks daily can help boost your endocrine system as well as your overall health. If you’re looking to balance out your hormones, to control any number of endocrine-related issues, try one of the following five all-natural drinks that can help boost your wellness.

1. Lemon Water

If your digestive tract is irritated by your diet, it can throw your hormones out of whack. Increasing your intake of water can help reduce inflammation, support good digestion and increase your metabolism.

Add some lemon in for extra vitamins, liver cleansing and antibacterial properties. Drink a glass first thing in the morning and throughout the day for maximum benefits.

2. Raspberry Leaf Tea

Raspberry leaf tea has an effect on your hormones, especially when it comes to uterine health, so it may be a good drink if you’re expecting a baby. Studies show that women who drank raspberry leaf tea had shorter second stages of labor and a lesser chance of requiring a C-section.

3. Turmeric Tea

Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin that mimics the activity of estrogen. This can help minimize menstrual pain, including cramps as well as help regulate your menstrual cycle.

Make a tea by heating up almond milk, turmeric, and honey for a hormone-balancing drink that can help lessen the pain of your monthly gift from mother nature.

4. Dong Quai Tea

This Chinese herb has been traditionally used to address reproductive issues, and recent studies are beginning to back this up.

A study from the journal Clinical and Experimental Obstetrics & Gynecology found that a supplement containing dong quai was effective at treating menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, without side effects.

5. Red Wine

As if you needed another reason to sip your daily glass. One study found that eating a Mediterranean diet, including consuming moderate amounts of red wine, can help lower hot flashes and night sweats in menopausal women. Just be careful not to have more than one glass per night, as it can actually have the opposite effect.
