Eat like Barbie with pink pasta, burgers and more
Now that the “Barbie” movie is available for streaming, we’re in the middle of a second wave of excitement for the Margot Robbie blockbuster. Thinking of having some friends over for a repeat viewing? The DIY chefs of the internet have you covered with a whole menu of themed snack ideas.
When it comes to Barbie, you’ve got to make it pink — and that even goes for foods you might not expect. Yes, it’s easy enough to find pink-covered strawberries, pink cupcakes and other sweets. For example, pink popcorn is perfect for watching the movie with friends at home.
This recipe from @fivefootfeminine gets its pretty hue from food coloring and is flavored with sugar, vanilla and butter.
@fivefootfeminine Barbie PINK Popcorn… YES HONEY! 💗🌸 make this pink popcorn recipe for a fun movie night with the girls. See Full recipe below👇🏼 INGREDIENTS: – 16 cups plain popped popcorn – 6 TBSP butter – 1 cup sugar – 3 TBSP water – 2 TSP vanilla – food coloring – salt to taste INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Prep and pop popcorn first 2) toss all other ingredients into a saucepan on low to medium heat (except popcorn). Bring to a boil and take off stove immediately. You don’t want it to boil for too long otherwise it’ll become too thick. You want it thin like syrup! 3) Pour mixture overtop of popcorn & mix 4) spread popcorn out in a single layer on parchment paper to cool and dry 5) sprinkle with salt (optional) and enjoy! 💗 #founditonamazon #barbiemovie #barbie #barbiecore #pinkpopcorn #easyrecipes #snackrecipes #bachelorettepartyideas #babyshowerideas #bridalshowerideas #barbieparty ♬ Barbie Girl – Lady Aqua
But how about pasta?
Australian fitness guru Kat Clark (@katclark) went viral after the movie first came out with her TikTok recipe for pink macaroni. It requires cooking garlic in an air fryer, blending up the other sauce ingredients, and adding that all to pasta.

The recipe for the sauce is amazingly simple: It features roasted garlic blended with feta cheese, greek yogurt and beets. In fact, if you want to avoid artificial food coloring, beets are a surprisingly versatile way to make almost any savory food pretty in pink.
Other versions of Barbie pasta use sour cream, regular cream, and different types of cheese.
TikTok cook @LookCatchu has a tasty recipe for “Barbie burgers” that calls for a sauce made from mayonnaise, smoked paprika, garlic powder, lemon juice and beetroot juice.

There are plenty of other unusual Barbie-pink foods to try as well, from sushi to elotes. All of this raises the question: Would the real Barbie actually enjoy any of this stuff? Margot Robbie, who portrays the live version of the doll, is quick to point out that in the movie as in real life, Barbie dolls don’t actually eat anything at all.
“I mean, she’s never tasted any food,” she told Buzzfeed UK. “You could probably get her some crackers and she’d be excited.”
