Halloween-Themed Wine Is Here And It’s Called ‘Hallowine’
Though you may be a bit too old to trick-or-treat nowadays, that doesn’t mean the fun of Halloween has to stop. Sure, you probably shouldn’t go around collecting candy from strangers, but you can do the next best thing—party like an adult.
And that (at least for me) includes wine. Lots and lots of wine.
Meet: Hallowine, a sweet apple wine perfect for your Halloween celebration. Bonus? It’s only $9.99! Hallowine hails from Door Peninsula Winery in Wisconsin, is spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, and features an ABV of 11.5 percent. The winery recommends the adult beverage as a “sassy cider substitute” and recommends it is best served warm.
If you don’t like cider or apple-flavored drinks, the winery also offers another $10 choice with a Halloween theme. Witches Brew is a red wine, blended with three wines: syrah, plum and strawberry. The winery says it is semi-dry, with a touch of residual sugar and a rich tannin structure. They recommend drinking it slightly chilled or at room temperature.
You can order both wines online, as long as you’re not in Alaska, Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Hampshire, South Dakota or Utah, where it’s not available for purchase online.
Door Peninsula Winery offers many other fruit-flavored wines as well, including Blueberry Merlot, Blackerry, Cranberry, Cranberry Apple, Pear, and Mad About Mango, plus more traditional wines like Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Cabernet.
Other Halloween-Inspired Drinks
If wine just isn’t your thing, how about some Halloween-inspired cocktails?
This poisoned apple cocktail features apple cider, pomegranate and tequila. Yum!
Or check out this candy corn martini if you’re still bummed about the whole not-trick-or-treating thing. This drink literally calls for candy corn soaked in vodka. Pretty sure candy soaked in alcohol is the perfect way to celebrate an adult Halloween.
As always, drink responsibly and don’t forget your costume!
