How your baby can become the new Gerber Baby

While all babies are no doubt adorable, once a year, baby food and product company Gerber sets out to find an extra special infant to represent the brand.

While they’re once again looking for a Spokesbaby this year, they’re also searching for their first-ever Chief Growing Officer (CGO). This year’s 2021 Photo Search winner will take on the role of Spokesbaby, plus an honorary role on Gerber’s executive committee and be the youngest exec in the brand’s history.

The job description for the CGO role includes eating the brand’s baby food products, appearing on the brand’s social media channels and marketing campaigns and, perhaps the easiest part of the role, being adorable.

Qualifications for the position include having an infectious giggle and shining personality, the ability to warm hearts and a passion for being the center of attention. Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to submit their little one’s photo and application on Gerber’s submission portal by May 17. Applicants must be between 0-48 months old.

Along with the opportunity to be featured on Gerber’s social media channels and marketing campaigns throughout the year, the winner will also receive a $25,000 cash prize and a selection of Gerber products.

The original Gerber Baby contest took place in 1928. Rather than submitting photos, artists entered their artwork for consideration. An artist named Dorothy Hope Smith entered a simple charcoal sketch that went up against intricate paintings. The endearing drawing of a baby, whose name was Ann Turner, touched the judges’ hearts, and the sketch represented the brand for nearly a century.

In 2010, the company decided to hold a contest again and it has since become an annual search. The 2020 Gerber baby, Magnolia Earl from Ross, California, was the first-ever adopted Spokesbaby.

Do you think your infant has what it takes to be Gerber’s next Spokesbaby and first-ever Chief Growing Officer?
