Country star Jake Owen shares sweet photos of his 5-year-old daughter on tour with him

Country music star Jake Owen always has a special guest with him when he goes on tour.

While you might think the life of a popular musician is super-glamorous, full of nothing but partying, performing for adoring fans and raking in the dough, Owen’s reality is a little different than your average rock star. That’s because when he wraps a show and gets back on the bus, there’s a 5-year-old girl named Olive Pearl waiting for him.

Owen shares custody of his daughter—whom he just calls Pearl, after his late godmother—with his ex-wife, Lacey Buchanan.

And it sounds like Pearl is quite the trooper when it comes to adapting to life on the road. Check out the photo Owen shared of Pearl curled up next to him after a concert. “Post show on the bus with my biggest, little fan. She tried to stay up for the whole show…” he wrote.

How cute! Not many kids Pearl’s age can say they get to fly on a jet while going to work with their dad. Owen posted this snap of Pearl sitting on his lap on a plane, noting that she’s set to start kindergarten this year, while he’s entering his 13th year of touring:

But it’s not all late nights and jet-setting for this sweet father-daughter pair. Sometimes they can be seen having silly fun just like any other family, like when Owen let his daughter paint his nails and apply mascara to his lashes:

Just this month, Owen gushed about Pearl in a sweet Instagram post that included a shot of her and their dog. “I’ve been putting up a lot of photos of my little girl,” Owen wrote. “That’s because she’s what makes me proud … She’s my life, and everything else comes second.”

It wasn’t the first time the award-winning musician said his daughter was his top priority. In July 2017, Owen said that despite all his career success, his true happiness in life comes from his relationship with little Pearl.

“As much as I love my job and playing music, the most satisfying, fulfilling moments in my life is when I can break away from the day-to-day grind and hustle that we do out there and just get back one-on-one with my little girl,” Owen told People magazine. “She really adds substance to my life.”
