Jonathan Taylor Thomas Turns 35: Where Is He Now?
Nineties TV star Jonathan Taylor Thomas turned 35 on Sept. 8. (BTW, his real name is Jonathan Taylor Weiss.)
Thomas rose to fame on the Tim Allen show “Home Improvement” in 1991 and stayed until 1998, co-starring in 179 episodes. So there will be residuals for quite awhile.
Happy birthday, JTT! In honor of the big day, here’s a look at this teen heartthrob through the years. This first set of images are obviously from the start of the Home Improvement era. He would’ve been just 10 when he started. Most kids are playing video games or maybe cutting the front yard to earn extra money at that age!
Of course, every precocious little kid has to grow up. And JTT was no exception.
JTT appeared on “Smallville” and he had a guest role on “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter” in 2004. He also popped up on “Veronica Mars” in 2005.
More recently, Thomas has guest starred on a few episodes of “Last Man Standing,” where he was reunited with his former TV parents Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson from “Home Improvement.”
He’s also done several film roles, too. Did you know he was the voice of the adorable lion cub Simba in The Lion King? (You may have heard of that movie.)
JTT’s other film credits include Disney flicks “Man of the House,” “Tom and Huck” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” And, you can see Thomas in “The Adventures of Pinocchio” (he played everyone’s favorite wooden puppet), “Wild America,” “Speedway Junky” and “Walking Across Egypt.”
This child star decided not to rest on his acting laurels. While he started his undergraduate degree at Harvard back in 2000 when he graduated high school, he didn’t finish his studies until more recently. Thomas graduated from Columbia University’s School of General Studies in 2010.
