Sonic’s new Red Bull slush drinks will put some pep in your step this summer

Sonic’s Slush drinks are always a refreshing treat in the summertime, but this year the chain is upping the ante with the introduction of the Red Bull Slush. The new frozen drink is now being offered for a limited time only at participating locations of the chain.

The slush comes in classic Red Bull or Cherry Limeade Red Bull flavors and is infused with Red Bull Energy Drink. So it’s perfect for when you want to cool off and get a bit of a boost at the same time. Red Bull contains caffeine, taurine, B vitamins and sugars.

The new drink costs $3.99 for a medium size. If you order ahead on the app, you can score half-price Red Bull Slushes and other drinks. Participating drive-ins will also offer 8.4 fl. oz. cans of Red Bull for $2.99. The half-price promotion does not apply to the cans.

Check out the chain’s promotion of the new beverage via one of their signature funny commercials at @Sonic Drive-In:

“There’s nothing more satisfying than the taste of Red Bull in a frozen Slush on a hot summer day and that’s exactly what we’ve captured here with the Red Bull Slush,” Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic, said in a press release. “Whether a grab-and-go visit or pairing with a Chili Cheese Coney and Tots, Sonic can satisfy guests’ craving for icy cold Slush combined with Red Bull!”

But what do people think so far? Well, some Twitter users are giving rave reviews, like Caleb Gallion at @FMMReviews:

And others think this drink is a natural when paired with alcohol, like Twitter user @boyde_beau:

Actually, there are a number of cocktails you can make you with Red Bull, and adding some vodka or another liquor of your choice to your Red Bull Slush sounds like the makings of a delicious frozen beverage to sip poolside or at the beach this summer. If you prefer to drink your slush straight, it would also make for a tasty alternative to an iced coffee drink!
