‘Spider-Man’ was spotted pressure-washing a roof during a rainstorm

Spider-Man has been pretty busy lately. Going on school field trips. Swinging between buildings. Appearing in “Spider-Man: Far from Home.” Saving the world.

But on June 18, Spidey took a break from his usual superhero-ing responsibilities, traveling far from his home in Forest Hills, Queens, in order to power wash a roof in Florida. In the middle of a thunderstorm. Just all casual-like. As you do.

When Florida resident George Martinez happened to glance out the window and see the illustrious superhero atop a roof nearby, he couldn’t believe his eyes. So he took a video:

As he shoots the video, Martinez speculates with a friend off-camera over whether or not Spider-Man is somehow tethered to the roof as he works.

We think this conversation is ridiculous. Clearly, Spider-Man is making use of an ability all spiders have — the ability to cling to walls using Van der Waals force, an electrostatic force that allows them to bond to various surfaces.

Or is he?

Sadly, the Spider-Man above turned out to be an imposter. Specifically, he was a worker with Sunset Paving & Pressure, a cleaning company.

It’s cool, though. Since Martinez posted his video to Instagram, capturing the attention of local media outlets, the press requests have flooded in. This quick clip from the set of “Despierta America” has us cracking up:

Clearly, people dig Spider-Man. And this isn’t the first time we’ve posted about someone adopting the superhero as their alter ego. In fact, a single father in England found that when he donned the costume, he was better able to comfort his 8-year-old autistic son.

“The reason I started putting on the suit was for my little autistic superhero,” the dad said. “At first it was a superhero taking time out to play with him, then it became his dad putting on a suit to help him through tough times when he didn’t just need his dad, he needed his dad to be his hero.”

Excuse me. I’ll just be over here in the corner weeping uncontrollably.

Anyway. We think it’s nifty that the enterprising power-washer up above began dressing up as Spider-Man in order to get the job done.

If you could have any superhero help you out around the house, which one would it be?
