Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside
If we had to choose the one dessert that makes us feel warm and cozy, it would be a fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookie. They’re fun to make. They smell divine as they’re baking. And the best part? They look amazing when you break them open and see the ooey gooey chocolate inside. Yum!
Could it even be possible to improve upon the classic chocolate chip cookie? Yes — if you transform that cookie into a chocolate chip cookie pie from Toll House.
With not just chocolate chips but also walnuts, and served alongside vanilla ice cream, I’m not sure it gets any better than this. The couple behind A Family Feast tried the recipe and they write that, as the pie bakes, it forms a crackly top. When you bite into it, however, it’s dense, soft and fudgy with a satisfying crunch thanks to the walnuts.
Along with the above-mentioned ingredients and other staples like eggs, flour and sugar, you’ll also need a deep dish pie shell. And while you will need a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, you don’t need a pie pan, as you’ll be putting all of the ingredients right into the pre-made pie shell.
Essentially, all you do to create the pie is mix everything together, put it in the pie shell and bake it. It’s that easy! Toll House says the prep time is only 15 minutes and it serves eight people.
While the chocolate chip cookie pie definitely sounds incredible, if you’re looking for even more, there are plenty of other chocolate chip dessert recipes to try. If you like your cookies with milk, this milk and cookie fudge is the perfect combination. All you need are white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, cookies and mini chocolate chips.
If cheesecake is more your thing, check out this salted caramel chocolate chip cheesecake. It has an Oreo cookie crust (made of nothing but crushed Oreos and butter!), a chocolate chip-filled cheesecake layer and an entire top layer of homemade salted caramel. Yum!
