When it comes to Halloween candy, you probably have your old standby favorites that you’ve been enjoying since you were a kid. While the classics are always delightful, it can also be fun to mix it up. Fortunately, there are a number of brand-new treats available this year! Whether you plan to give 2017’s new Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters, save it all for yourself or a little bit of both, here’s a list of five new Halloween treats you should definitely try out this year:
1. Pumpkin Pie Kit Kats
Pumpkin is the official flavor of fall, and now the iconic candy bar Kit Kat has gotten in on the fun with pumpkin pie-flavored Kit Kats. This limited-edition candy might be a bit difficult to hunt down, but Wide Open Eats says they’re available at Kroger-owned stores, such as Pick ‘n Save. These beauties are also available through Amazon.
2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Bats
Candy lovers will take Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups any way they can get them, whether that’s in the shape of of trees or bells for Christmas, eggs for Easter, or now, bats for Halloween. Get your hands on them at Target.
Reese's has a new holiday shape exclusive to Target! Remember the #AllTreesAreBeautiful campaign? Well, Reese's took the least beautiful trees, did nothing to them, and called them bats. 🦇 As far as the chocolate-to-peanut butter ratio goes, these Tree-Bats are great but aren't as good as the Eggs. Nothing is and nothing ever will be.
3. Smokin’ Hot Nestle Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups
If you enjoy a little heat with your candy, you should definitely give these Smokin’ Hot Peanut Butter Cups from Butterfinger a try. Folks who have tried the treat say they’re not super-spicy, so don’t expect a full-on assault on your tastebuds, but rather, a little kick. According to the Instagrammer @thejunkfoodaisle, you can find them at Safeway.
4. Trader Joe’s Salted Caramels
While pumpkin spice reigns supreme in the flavors of fall, apple cider might be a close second. At Trader Joe’s, you can get salted caramels infused with either flavor. Both are sweetened with dark chocolate — yum!
5. Sweet Heat Skittles & Starburst
Skittles and Starburst are also getting in the spicy candy trend with Sweet Heat Skittles and Sweet Heat Starburst.
Starburst flavors are Fiery Watermelon, Strawberry Mango, Flamin’ Orange and Pipin’ Pineapple, while the Skittles flavors are Fiery Watermelon, Blazin’ Mango, Flamin’ Orange, Sizzlin’ Strawberry and Lemon Spark. The Instagrammer behind thejunkfoodaisle spotted them at Walgreens.
