Ah, remember when the “good ol’ days” meant past decades — a hearkening back to times when life was simpler. Now, we’re all just nostalgic for February, before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in the U.S.

Let’s take a break from our present-day stresses for a moment, though, with a nod to the oldie-but-goodie 1950s and a cold, sweet treat: a peanut butter and jelly milkshake.

Disney has been keeping fans entertained in the kitchen with a steady stream of recipes for beloved snacks — like churro bites, Mickey beignets, cookie fries and Dole Whip — from the Disney parks and resorts. This time, they’ve shared the recipe for the fan-favorite peanut butter and jelly milkshake, one of the most popular menu items from Walt Disney World’s 50’s Prime Time Café.

At this ’50s diner-style restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, servers dish out old-fashioned American comfort food like meatloaf, fried chicken, pot roast and, of course, milkshakes, with a side of playful “clean your plate,” “elbows off the table” attitude, just like Grandma.

With just four ingredients, the recipe couldn’t be easier to whip up at home.

Just add two tablespoons each of peanut butter and grape or strawberry jelly, two cups of vanilla ice cream and 1/4 cup of milk to a blender and blend until smooth. You can add additional peanut butter or jelly as needed to get just the right balance.

For a fresher spin, you can also substitute two cups of sliced strawberries, fresh or frozen, for the jelly. Enjoy it as is or top with whip cream and a cherry for an extra treat!

Here’s the complete recipe, which you can print at home.
