The ‘Will & Grace’ revival has been renewed for a second season

Good news, “Will & Grace” fans—the revival series has been renewed for a second season! That means 13 more episodes of all the Will, Grace, Karen, Jack and Rosario you can handle. Excuse me while I run and get my sweater vest.

It seems as if everyone was as excited as me to hear that the revival would be happening at all. So it’s not entirely surprising that this latest big news has been dropped.

NBC made an announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday. The “Will & Grace” Twitter page immediately joined in on the fun and let W&G fans know what was up with this classic tweet:

It’s been so wonderful to see all of our favorite stars from the original show (Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally) back and better than ever. And it’s been great to have original director James Burrows (who oversaw every single episode in the show’s initial eight-year run) back as director and executive producer.

As if news of a second season wasn’t enough, we’re also thrilled to share that the first season of the “Will & Grace” revival has been extended. Yes, EXTENDED! Now, instead of 12 episodes, you’ll get a whopping 16. Do the math and, between this season and the upcoming one, that’s 29 episodes packed with the best drama on TV. I will not yield on this point.

As happy as we are to see the gang back together, they’re even happier. “I always thought about the four of us as being like an orchestra and each of us playing a different instrument and creating a musical together,” Debra Messing, 48, told Entertainment Weekly magazine in a recent interview. “Comedy is music. Once we started playing the music again it was like, oh, I know how this song goes.”
