Turning 50 is certainly a big milestone, and calls for a major celebration. Will Smith marked hitting a half-century on Earth by bungee jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon, and it sounds like a perfectly over-the-top way of celebrating the occasion befitting of the larger-than-life performer. Smith did the stunt after as part of a challenge issued to him by YouTube Channel Yes Theory.

Luckily, he documented the whole thing on a video posted to YouTube, and it looks absolutely thrilling, if not a little terrifying. Check out the footage of the whole exhilarating thing in the video below:

Wow! Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith and his three children were there to cheer him on, and the event raised money for charity via an online lottery to win a chance to watch in-person. The money will go toward access to education for children in developing nations.

The people behind Yes Theory explained in their own video why they chose Smith for the daring challenge.

“[T]o us, he isn’t just another actor,” they explained. “He’s an ambassador of what we believe in, the Yes Theory. Part of what living by the Yes Theory means is realizing that if we want to create a better world together, we have to chose love over fear. And fear is a subject that Will Smith tackles on the daily.”

This is certainly not the first time Smith has shown his bravery for all of the world to see. Smith has embraced YouTube as a place to showcase content and connect with fans, and his channel has more than 3.5 million subscribers. Another of his documented adventures was the #InMyFeelingsChallenge, in which he filmed himself dancing to the Drake song on top of a bridge in Budapest:

Yikes! His challenges are certainly not for the faint of heart. We can’t wait to see what this daredevil does next!
