This couple dressed up as their 11 favorite fictional characters for an engagement photo shoot

There’s no denying it—there’s a lot more that goes into weddings nowadays than there used to be. And that includes the engagement photos, as your standard “our parents took this for the newspaper” photo simply doesn’t cut it anymore.

Now, couples are taking their pre-wedding pictures near frozen waterfalls and even underwater. Clearly, nothing is off limits. So when engaged couple Jackie Nguyen and Nate Huntley of New York sat down to figure out their own engagement session, they came up with the perfect idea.

The couple, who met while acting in a production of  “Miss Saigon” in 2014, opted to pay tribute to some of their favorite couples from pop culture. With their plan in mind, they took their ideas to their friend, photographer Isaac James. James and the couple then shot the photos all around New York City and New Jersey.

The results are nothing short of spectacular. From Marty McFly and Doc Brown from “Back to the Future,” Marv and Harry from “Home Alone,” and even Yoko Ono and John Lennon, the couple’s impersonation of some pretty serious power couples is spot on. There is also one match-up that we’ll likely never see—that of Thor anda  Gryffindor from “Harry Potter”—but it matches their “Save the Date” perfectly and, like all the others, is seriously amazing.

Take a look at all 11 photos below from Nguyen’s Facebook page:

1. Doc Brown and Marty McFly from “Back To The Future”

2. John Lennon and Yoko Ono

3. Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant from “Jurassic Park”

4. Harry and Marv from “Home Alone”

5. Peggy Carter and Captain America

6. Diane Nguyen and BoJack Horseman from “BoJack Horseman”

7. Thor and a Gryffindor (from “Harry Potter”)

8. Miranda Hillard and Mrs. Doubtfire from “Mrs. Doubtfire”

9. Jack and Rose from “Titanic”

10. Linus and Sally from “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”

11. Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott from “The Office”

Which photo is your favorite? We get a kick out of this one:

Nguyen says Huntley’s was “Titanic,” while hers was “Home Alone.”

“We got into full character and walked around The Plaza Hotel and Bethesda Fountain where they actually shot [Home Alone],” she told HuffPost. “Any excuse to be Joe Pesci for an hour is fine by me.”

Oh, and as for the wedding? Nguyen says the theme is “expect the unexpected.”

“We have the most outlandish and fun things planned for the wedding, some of which are surprises that we can’t reveal!” she said. “What we can say is that it is a Chex Mix of Willy Wonka meets Christmas meets a magical carnival.”

The couple apparently even invited Macaulay Culkin to their wedding. No word yet on if he’s RSVP’d, but that sure would make for some pretty epic wedding photos!
