From Slim Jims and Vlasic to Reese’s and Internation Delight, it’s not uncommon for seemingly disparate brands to join forces and create new treats. Meanwhile, the new pairing of Funfetti and Oreo seems like one that’s been begging to be made for years.
Pillsbury’s new Funfetti Oreo line brings the two iconic dessert brands together for a line of baking mixes, including brownies, cakes and even pancakes. There are a total of five new products in the line, all of which feature genuine Oreo pieces and will hit stores nationwide in February.
Starting with a classic Funfetti treat, there are two cake mixes in the line-up: vanilla and chocolate, the latter of which has a dark cocoa flavor. Both mixes have Oreo cookie pieces included and would likely pair well with the new vanilla-flavored Funfetti frosting that also has — you guessed it! — crushed Oreos blended in.
If cake isn’t your thing, you can instead grab a box of Funfetti Oreo brownie mix, which has Oreo cookie pieces included in a separate pouch to sprinkle on top of your gooey treats once they’re baked.
If you’re feeling particularly daring in the morning, you can also try the new Funfetti buttermilk pancake and waffle mix that has Oreos mixed into the batter. Prices for the new line will range from $1.30-$4 each, according to Pillsbury’s parent company, Hometown Food Company.
While you wait for these products to hit store shelves, you can easily bake some Oreo-infused treats yourself, like these Oreo cheesecake cookies or Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies.
If you’re looking for something even more decadent, this Oreo pudding cake brings together cookies, cream cheese, pudding and whipped cream for an easy dessert that looks like it came from a bakery.
Is there anything Oreos can’t make better?
If you’d rather just stick with original Funfetti, there are multiple products already on the market, including pancake and waffle mix, cereal, coffee creamer and the latest addition to the line, blondie mix.
The blondie mix, which was introduced in summer 2020, is a blend of vanilla and colorful candy-coated chips. One box makes a 13-by-9-inch pan of blondies; just mix them up, pop them in the oven, slice them and serve.
