Sam Smith And Fifth Harmony Make For One Epic ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Sam Smith has officially joined the pop singers who have not only helped James Corden get to work on time, but entertained us along with the way. That’s right, it’s time for the latest edition of “Carpool Karaoke”! And you better buckle up because this one is EPIC.

As expected, the singer and “Late Late Show” host belted out some of Smith’s hits, beginning with “Too Good At Goodbyes,” one of his latest songs from his album “The Thrill Of It All”. Next up was “Lay Me Down”—not an easy song for some fun karaoke, but Corden pulled it out quite well!

Smith then told Corden he was one of the first people to bring attention to the song. The singer he was working in a bar at the time and Corden, then a popular British actor, tweeted about his love for the tune.

“I heard this song and I was like, I remember thinking, ‘I’ve just heard a voice I will listen to the rest of my life,'” Corden said, causing Smith (and us!) to get emotional. The song is on the album “In the Lonely Hour,” which has won Smith dozens of awards, including a Grammy.

Aside from Sam Smith’s hit songs, the two discussed everything from his recent weight loss—and why Corden isn’t losing weight even though he’s on the same diet (LOL)— Smith’s love for Ryan Gosling and that he is a huge fan of the group “Fifth Harmony,” which lead to a surprise for the star.

After starting to sing one of their songs, Corden pulled over and the women of Fifth Harmony all jumped in the back seat. “This is my dream!” Smith exclaimed. Together, the carpoolers all sang the Fifth Harmony song “Work From Home”.
