Voting for your favorite new Lay's flavor could help someone win $1 million

2017 marks the fourth consecutive year for Lay’s Do Us A Flavor contest, but this year’s finalists may be the best ever.

After going through millions of fan submissions, Lay’s has chosen three finalists. Trying each flavor and voting on your favorite will help one lucky person win $1 million.

This year’s flavors are Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese, Fried Green Tomato and Crispy Taco. So, when it comes to choosing a favorite, you’re up for quite the challenge.

These chips became available for purchase on July 24. You’ll have until Oct. 8 to try them all and cast your vote.

There will be prizes offered daily to voters, but the ultimate prize of $1 million will be awarded to the person who came up with the winning flavor. Because, you know, they deserve it. Especially after bringing you your new favorite Lay’s flavor.

According to a press release, the Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese flavor was dreamed up by Lindsay Hoffman, from Gainesville, Florida, who realized this chip would combine all of her favorite things: her favorite breakfast meal and her favorite pastime (eating Lay’s potato chips, of course).

The idea for Fried Green Tomato came from Gregory Pope, who used to eat the tomatoes at all of his family get-togethers in Georgia.

And last, but certainly not least, the Crispy Taco flavor was brought to you by Ellen Sarem, who first started to experiment with the perfect taco recipe to impress her now-fiancé.

She said her first attempt at nailing the flavor was a disaster.

Voting will take place on the Lay’s website or via Twitter or Instagram using hashtags #SweepstakesEntry, along with one of the following: #VoteEverythingBagel, #VoteFriedGreenTomato or #VoteCrispyTaco.

There’s also a Snapchat entry option that involves swiping up on your favorite finalist flavor and following the prompted instructions to confirm the vote.

You’re allowed one vote per day, and doing so will make you eligible for some pretty great prizes, including everything from a water bottle to a trip to New York, according to the official rules.
