While it can be pretty hard to pick a favorite character when it comes to superhero movies (why can’t Thor and Iron Man be our boyfriend?!), Marvel made it pretty easy with Groot in 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Sorry, Star-Lord.
After falling in love and then thinking we lost him when he scarified himself to save the GOTG team, Marvel took it a step further with Baby Groot. Obviously, hearts melted. I mean, just look at that face.
Baby Groot is set to make a comeback when “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2” hits theaters on May 5, and to celebrate, Marvel and the Disney Conservation Fund teamed up to plant trees in honor of everyone’s favorite plant.
To do so, Marvel challenged YouTube star Dominic “D-Triz” Sandoval to inspire other internet users to the #GrootDanceBomb Challenge. That’s right, it’s a dance challenge you can take a part in. Dancing to help the environment? We’re in!

Here’s how it works: From now until May 5, for every video someone posts to Instagram or Twitter with #GrootDanceBomb, Marvel and Disney will donate $1 to The Nature Conservancy to plant a tree. The video below offers a tutorial on how to do your own #GrootDanceBomb video. It’s pretty easy and only takes a few seconds, so get dancing, y’all!

If you’re not one for dancing, you can share the video above on YouTube or Facebook and still get a tree planted. Marvel will donate a minimum of $50,000, and up to $250,000 (which will buy a quarter of a million trees) if there are enough shares, likes or videos!
This challenge comes just as Earth Day is approaching on April 22. If you’re not up for sharing, liking or being a YouTube star for the sake of the environment, no worries, you can still celebrate Earth Day! Here are 10 ways to thank the planet and honor Mother Nature.
