Sleeping with the sharks might not be as deadly as you think. In fact, one Airbnb user is hoping that you’ll stay for the weekend.
World record free-diver, Fred Buyle, has partnered with the Aquarium de Paris to host a sleepover for one lucky couple in a cylindrical glass room located in the aquarium’s shark tank.
What the aquarium, along with Airbnb, are hoping to achieve with the contest is, “to create awareness beyond the scientific community and change the way the wider consumer audience think about sharks.”
The once-in-a-lifetime experience is the chance to see a side of our world that we’ve never known. The contest gives the winners the opportunity to not only learn about sharks, but to experience their world first-hand.
Besides a free night sleeping in a shark tank, the winners can also expect to receive two intimate meals served in the tank as well as a special tour of the aquarium. Not a resident of France? Don’t worry!
As part of the contest package, Airbnb is offering to provide travel for the winners of the contest. So, no matter where you live, sleeping with sharks is completely obtainable.
When it comes to your sleeping arrangements, every inch of the special room has been tested for special measures.
In fact, this room was designed for aquarium use, and will be used by marine biologists going forward, according to Refinery29.
The aquarium is also asking that guests do not snap any photos after dark. As sharks are sensitive to light, all selfies must be snapped before light’s out.
